No Name On The Bullet (1959)

50 Westerns From The 50s.

Here’s a production shot from No Name On The Bullet (1959), probably from the climactic scene.

This Audie Murphy picture, directed by Jack Arnold (Creature From The Black Lagoon), is a prime example of the Westerns Universal-International was capable of in the late Fifties. Written by Gene L. Coon, who’d go on to become one of the main writers of Star Trek, this really plays to Audie’s strengths as an actor. And Arnold shows a flair for CinemaScope, which he didn’t use very often.
